Important:
----------

Milestone recommends updating the Windows OS completely before installing any XProtect software on it.

The motion detection algorithm has been changed in XProtect Enterprise 2013 family. A motion stop event is now always triggered three seconds after motion not being detected any more. In previous releases the motion stop event was triggered after 2 times the pre-recording time.

You cannot upgrade from XProtect Enterprise 6.5 family to XProtect Professional VMS 2014. You must upgrade to XProtect Enterprise 7.0 family and then to XProtect Professional VMS 2014.

If you do not enter anything under SLC Description after going through the Software Registration process, the field Customer Name on your Customer Dashboard will be empty for that SLC. Also, if you have enabled email notifications, leaving the SLC Description empty hides which Customer the error comes from.

If you want to downgrade to a previous version after having installed XProtect Professional VMS 2014, you need to manually uninstall XProtect Professional VMS 2014 beforehand.

Known Server Issues:
--------------------

If upgrading from a previous version with an alarm definition using the triggering event "Archive Move Failure", it will be changed to an "Archive Failure" event as the "Archive Move Failure" event is obsolete.

PTZ Patrolling options are not always enabled for a PTZ device in the Schedule Properties dialog before the Management Application has been restarted.

If an output is added to a device in the Management Application, it cannot be triggered from the Management Application before the Management Application has been restarted.

System Watch: When clicking on the Syslog Test button in the System Watch administrator, you will get an OK result back regardless of whether the service listening on the specified address is a syslog server or not.

If running Windows 8.1 and having the network card on the PC disabled, the application will hang when browsing for e.g. a log file folder or a license file. Enable the network card or run the application as administrator.

In rare occasions the Event Server might fail to install due to not being able to delete performance counters. Work around is to run the following command in a command prompt: 'lodctr /r'. This will rebuilt the missing performance counter settings.

Known Client Issues:
--------------------

If you have used the "Video Quality" feature in the Smart Client, and then disabled it again, the feature is actually not disabled unless you switch to another view.

When a Transact view item is selected the buttons for last, first, next and previous frame or sequence are not available.

In rare occasions recordings cannot be seen in playback. This will only happen on cameras just added. Should this occur restart the Smart Client or change to another view. If the camera is available in several Smart Clients all Smart Clients must be closed before recordings can be seen.

Licensing:
----------

The product contains technology to prevent unlicensed use of the product. Before the expiration of the trial period, you must perform a mandatory online or offline activation of the product in order not to lose any video data. Failing to activate the product before the trial period expires, will result in a disruption of operation. When you have added new hardware, you must also reactivate the product before the grace period ends.

The trial period is typically 30 (thirty) days from the installation date.
